Blake Flattley is a singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He was raised on the music of the Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, and Johnny Cash and through their influence, grew a strong fondness for harmony and storytelling in song. 

In 2008, he founded the Orange Effect, a harmony-driven, Americana-folk quartet, and later released music under the names Graffiti Cathedral and Blake Flattley. In 2015, his track There Will Be Rest, was a finalist for the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

Blake has toured nationally, playing renowned venues such as the House of Blues, Los Angeles’ Hotel Cafe, New York City’s Rockwood Music Hall, and the Bitter End. He has shared the stage with acts like Young the Giant, Sharon Van Etten, The Arcadian Wild, and Andy Gullahorn. 

His work has contributed to Winter Is On My Head, CommunionArts, and 1517 Music as both a producer and artist. In 2023 he released Freedom Lessons, a hip-hop/indie rock crossover album with collaborators, Flame, Steve Zank, Mashell, and LOSO. Their track, “Can You Hear Me?” off of the record was awarded the 2023 Lennon Award.
